Quality control of feed and feed raw materials

Feed quality directly affects animal health and the manufacturer’s reputation. We offer an extended analytical profile that covers all key stages: from assessing the freshness of raw materials to confirming the safety of finished products.

Our areas of analysis

1. Determination of synthetic antioxidants (BHA and BHT)
Analysis of E320 (butylated hydroxyanisole) and E321 (butylated hydroxytoluene) content. These synthetic antioxidants are widely used to slow fat oxidation and extend shelf life. Despite their technological benefits, their concentration is strictly regulated.

  • What we do: We perform accurate quantitative analysis in feeds for productive and non-productive animals, as well as in feed raw materials.
  • Result: Assurance of regulatory compliance, elimination of toxic exposure risks for animals, and protection against claims from supervisory authorities.

2. Natural antioxidant profile (Tocopherols)
Qualitative and quantitative assessment of tocopherols in the feed matrix. The modern market is increasingly focused on natural antioxidants to preserve freshness and the nutritional value of nutrients.

  • What we do: We help evaluate the effectiveness of natural antioxidant systems in your product.
  • Result: Essential data for optimizing the technological process, confirming a premium composition, and successfully launching the product on the market.

3. Fat oxidation markers (Primary and secondary products)
Determination of peroxide value and hexanal. Fat oxidation is a hidden process that can spoil even a perfectly balanced feed.

  • What we do: We detect primary (peroxide value) and secondary (hexanal) signs of oxidation at early stages.
  • Result: An objective assessment of the freshness of fat components, shelf-life control, and prevention of product rancidity.

4. Biogenic amine analysis (Raw material freshness assessment)
Determination of histamine, putrescine, cadaverine, tyramine, spermine, and spermidine. Biogenic amines are a key indicator of biological degradation of protein raw materials.

  • What we do: We perform in-depth analysis of raw materials entering production.
  • Result: Critically important information for extrusion process technologists. Controlling amine levels ensures high raw material quality, which directly improves feed palatability and animal health.

Why it matters?

  • Safety and compliance: Confirmation that products meet declarations, certificates, and technical regulations.
  • Risk reduction: Prevention of hidden threats to animal health and minimization of product returns.
  • Quality management: Objective data for adjusting formulations and technological parameters.
  • Reputation: Assurance of consistently high product quality in every batch.
